▹ ‣ When exposed to the moon’s aura, the rings on its body glow faintly and it gains a mysterious power.
I’ve always loved Umbreon’s design but only trained one as part of my main team recently, and wow this thing is a defensive powerhouse! That’s pretty new for me, I usually stick to the power attackers. I know I can count on him to endure a blow and always be there to rely on, this little guy definitely surprised me.

▹ ‣ It is said to make its home somewhere in the sea. It guides crews of shipwrecks to shore.
His design never made sense to me and I admit I never liked Dragonite until recently, but I started to really grow very fond of the big doof in FireRed.

▹ ‣ It loves crossing the sea with people and Pokémon on its back. It understands human speech.
I’ve found that Lapras tend to be a reliable ally near the end of the game, I’m quite fond of them.

▹ ‣ Its fur is so sensitive, it can sense minute shifts in the air and predict the weather.
One of my original team, Espeon will always be up among my favorites.

▹ ‣ The tip of its tail shines brightly. In the olden days, people sent signals using the tail’s light.
I always pictured this guy rolling around everywhere and nuzzling everything in sight and just being a big mushy puddle of love.

▹ ‣ The plants growing on its horns change according to the season. The leaders of the herd possess magnificent horns.
I remember that day in the studio when we were all anxiously awaiting the new designs of Fifth Gen, and the moment when I first saw this guy I just immediately fell head over heels in love with him. Good memories, he remains as one of my all-time favorites.

▹ ‣ Once it begins to rampage, a Gyarados will burn everything down, even in a harsh storm.
In each game I almost always train a Gyarados from my first caught Magikarp…in a way it’s kind of a tradition. It’s fun to struggle so much in the beginning and then finally have it evolve and be pretty rad. Now that’s what I call karma.

▹ ‣ Its nine tails are said to be imbued with a mystic power. It can live for a thousand years.
Honestly I probably wouldn’t be an artist if it wasn’t for this guy, or rather…maybe I would be, but FT certainly wouldn’t exist and who knows how boring I’d be. Ever think where my brilliant 11-year-old brain come up with the name Nintaliese? I owe a lot to this Pokémon, he is the original inspiration for the world in my head.

➥ Day 9: Favorite Steel Type: #212 Scizor
▹ ‣ It raises its pincers with eyelike markings for intimidation. It also swings them down dangerously.
I loved my Scizor, but I never managed to to train another Steel-type properly…this guy was pretty great. I always pictured him as more of a calm precision type rather than the hard fighter people usually portray him as.

▹ ‣ The leer that floats in darkness belongs to a Gengar delighting in casting curses on people.
What an ass this dude is, ya gotta love ‘im. Oh, I’ve caught up already! nice. :p

▹ ‣ Upon finding a small Pokémon, it weaves clothing for it from leaves, using the cutters on its arms and sticky silk.
Never have I thought I would fall so in love with a Bug pokémon, but Levanny is amazing and an extremely strong member of my team, I really adore this thing.

➥ Day 6: Favorite Rock Type: #567 Archeops
▹ ‣ They are intelligent and will cooperate to catch prey. From the ground, they use a running start to take flight.
When my Archen evolved I had stupidly proud feelings because it’s wish to fly came true, so I imagined him to feel very happy and accomplished haha. I adore Archeops, it’s currently the strongest member of my most recent team and stands as one of my favorites.

➥ Day 5: Favorite Normal Type: #104 Cubone
▹ ‣ When it thinks of its dead mother, it cries. Its crying makes the skull it wears rattle hollowly.
The love I have for Cubone…I can’t even begin to explain it. He means so much to me. The only reason this isn’t Marowak is because he’s going to come later…much later. ;)

▹ ‣ The transformation of its legs into wings made it better at flying, but more clumsy at walking.
Hey, where do you think you’re going? We’re not done here. Anyways, they may be stubborn at first, but in many of the games you can usually count on there to be a Crobat on my team.

➥ Day 3: Favorite Flying Type: #468 Togekiss
▹ ‣ It shares many blessings with people who respect one another’s rights and avoid needless strife.
Flying is actually my favorite type, so choosing one was very hard. However you’ll find out soon that there are MANY flyers on my list! I recently came to appreciate Togekiss, it’s a very loving heavy-hitter. :)
